Zykia is a composer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist whose work resists easy categorization. Across three albums spanning five years, she has developed a sound that draws from neo-soul, ambient music, minimalist composition, jazz harmony, and contemporary classical traditions.
Based between Oslo and New York, Zykia records in a converted warehouse studio with a preference for long takes, live arrangements, and found acoustics. Her work has been performed at the Barbican, the Sydney Opera House, and the Shed, and has appeared on soundtracks for two feature films.
Soft Revolution, her third album, was recorded in a single two-week session in upstate New York and released in June 2025 on her own imprint, Arc Records.
